You are bidding on an US Air Force Brown Leather A2 Jacket with All Insignia for a Fighter Pilot. Label states: COOPER, TYPE A-2, under exclusive manufacturing by the Cooper Defense Contract Division U.S. AIR Force. Second label reads TYPE A-2, SIZE 42R, GAC 201-01-8101M, COOPER SPROTSWEAR MFG. CO. INC., CSN 8718-01-824-3400. Lower label states: SHELL: 100% GENUINE GOATSKIN LEATHER, LINING: 50% COTTON, 50% POLYESTER. Leather name plate with Pilot's Wings, GARLAND NORMAND, 1ST LT USAF. Both shoulders have silver First Lieutenant Bars. Left sleeve has 74th Fighter SQDN, Flying Tigers shoulder patch. Right sleeve has 23rd Wing. This came directly from the original owner, Garland Normand that flew the famous F-4 Phantom who had it restored several years ago. The Air Force brought back the famous A-2 jacket in the early 1990's in an attempt to retain trained pilots.
